Bachelorette Party Advice
11.25.09
Bachelorette parties are time when most women let all rules out the door and get crazy and celebrate. Here is some pre-party advice before things get out of hand!
The bride and groom are both allowed to have the type of bachelorette or bachelor party that they would like. Getting married is one of the biggest turning points in a person’s life and a party before it happens is one of best ways to let loose. Not all bachelor(ette) parties are raunchy these days, many people skip the strippers and just enjoy a nice night out instead.
It is a good idea for the bride and groom to celebrate on the same night. This will keep the other one distracted and not wondering if their significant other is getting into trouble. This also can allow everyone to meet up at a favorite spot at the end of the night.
The bride should only have people at her bachelorette party who she feels comfortable with and who are comfortable and will have fun with the night’s activities. This shouldn’t be a night for the bride to be worrying about other people, all the attention should be on her.
In regards to inviting the mother of the bride and the groom to the bachelorette party, it is based on the relationship that the bride has to each of them. If the bride feels comfortable and is close to the mothers, then by all means invite them to the party so they can help celebrate. If it would make the bride uncomfortable then it may be best to leave them out of the party.
As the bride, it is ultimately up to you to decide what you are comfortable or not comfortable with for your bachelorette party. There is not a format you need to follow to ensure that your bachelorette party is “normal.” It is the last time for you to celebrate as a single woman and your friends should be ensuring that you are there having a good time!
